SiSiB® WR0812 |
i-Octyltriethoxysilane. Synonym: Triethoxy(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)silane Countertype of Wacker IO-TRIETHOXY |
Chemical Structure |
Introduction |
SiSiB® WR0812 is clear colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. SiSiB® WR0812 is suitable for water-repellent impregnation of construction materials (especially concrete and reinforced concrete). It increases their resistance to alkalis and reduces water absorption, thus improving durability. SiSiB® WR0812 is practically insoluble in water. It hydrolyze slowly in the presence of moisture (ethanol is released) to form reactive silanols, which can react with themselves to produce siloxanes. |

Applications |
SiSiB® WR0812 can be used to render a wide range of surfaces and materials water repellent (e.g.construction materials, fillers), especially concrete and reinforced concrete. SiSiB® WR0812 can be used as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobicity and to increase compatibility to organic non polar matrices. SiSiB® WR0812 can be used in the production of silane crosslinking formulations. |
